#5 - Something Old

Soooooo, for the past week I've been participating in My Life in Photos hosted by the delectable Everything Except The Grill .

The plot line...The purpose of this photo challenge project is to encourage you to pick up your camera and start capturing details of your life. This project should also serve as a way to look at what others are finding to shoot and will hopefully keep you inspired to look for more moments in your life you wouldn't always think to capture with your camera. Our first My Life. In Pictures. challenge will start on March 30th and run through April 3rd.The assignment will be: Monday- Something new, Tuesday- Something on your table, Wednesday- The view from your front door, Thursday- Something you do each day and Friday- Something old. If you need any more details they are listed here. It's your last chance to join in today! Go on, squeeze all 5 pictures in to one day!!

#5 Something Old

I was going to take a photo of an old person, then I remembered I don't have any of my own left... apart from my parents and they aren't that old (it scares me to say that!!). I decided upon a picture (well I scanned it) of an old picture.

Seeing as though I've talked a bit about my entertaining, yet somewhat disturbed, parents I thought I'd introduce you to one - Mr Secret-Keeper. Although he severely dislikes the Bee Gees he clearly thought he was one!!

The photo was taken in around 18...OK, 1973 in Greece...(sing with me) Papa was a rolling stone...until he met Mrs Secret-Keeper! He wasn't actually the manwhoring type of rolling stone though! He just travelled a lot before he met my mom...who am I trying to convince here!?

My dad lived in 17 countries in 4 years - I know that's not much nowadays (I know people who have visited more in 12 months) but for the 1970s that was a lot considering it took days / weeks to get anywhere and travelling abroad was expensive!! Dad and his crew (as they would be known today) visited Russia, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, France, Espania and Norway to mention a few. These were just the ones before my sister and I were born!

Well, that concludes My life in pictures. I promise that next week I will come up with something good to blog about. If you have any topic suggestions please let me know!! I intend on getting some much needed sleep this weekend so I will be in tip top condition for next weeks blogging (although I clearly plan on blogging over the weekend!!). xx

#4 - Something I Do Every Day

How we roll...Everything Except The Grill - The purpose of this photo challenge project is to encourage you to pick up your camera and start capturing details of your life.

In this post (go on, have a look, it'll all make sense) I drew a picture! This is actually something I would like to do everyday! But kids, today I'm going to make it happen!!!....several hours later. Gutted! I got to where I was going, set myself up only to realise I'd left my camera memory card firmly plugging into my effing laptop! very distressed!! So I tried my best with the photos, but they aren't that great.

First, the suspense builder...

Yes...you guessed it! This is the famous "Blind Spot"!! It's a little messy you'll see, but this is because our cleaning staff have been reduced in numbers and are now officially only cleaning once a month...erm...yuk!! I would've done it myself but I'm just so super busy (preparing the "Blind Spot" and getting excited) I didn't have time.

Please remember my photos are a little useless because I forgot the camera thing and I had to use my Iphone (for an expensive phone the camera isn't that great!)...anyway...

See, I wasn't lying, I could totally slip in there with the fairies and go to sleep and no-one would know!! Someone in the building has requested I leave it like that so they can bring their dogs in...I'm considering my charges!!

The View From My Front Door

Here's the drill...Everything Except The Grill - The purpose of this photo challenge project is to encourage you to pick up your camera and start capturing details of your life. This project should also serve as a way to look at what others are finding to shoot and will hopefully keep you inspired to look for more moments in your life you wouldn't always think to capture with your camera. Our first My Life. If you need any more details they are listed here.

Here is the view from my front door (and no, I do not own a Mercedes! My parents came to visit but arrived before me and so stole prime position and I had to park way way out there - being the shiny blue car!! Cheeky!).I seriously don't have anything to say about the view!! I bought my house 2 years ago and it's not the most exciting view in the world, the back view's alright (lol), and from the upstairs bedrooms. I hate the curtains in the porch but haven't quite gotten around to changing them. Erm...that's about it I suppose!

***NEWS FLASH***

Holy crap - an American firm just bought Basil Brush...WTF!?

Another random conversation with the p-unit (my parents!) - talking about school reports...
Dad - My school reports always said "must try harder", "erratic work", "needs to pay attention", "please see me".
Me - Much the same as mine then!?
Dad - There was one that said "needs to watch himself", I was never sure what that meant.
Mom - So that's why you were always looking in the mirror when we first met!?
Dad - No, that was because I was really good looking!
Laughter!!
Bless the p-unit, poor disillusioned souls!
xx

P.S Mom's not pregnant

P.P.S can you believe some MP tried to claim for 2 porn DVDs in her expenses?? Another WTF if you don't mind!!

P.P.S My writing has gone a little bizarre due to insomnia!

Shelf Envy, or is it Shelve Envy?

I will be posting for My Life in Pictures later tonight – I seem to be doing 2 posts a day a bit too frequently at the moment! This must stop!!

Until yesterday I never knew that a condition commonly known as “shelf envy” (or would that be “shelve envy”? Now that I’ve questioned myself that word looks really odd and wrong, have I spelt it wrong?). Anyway, I thought I would make your envy a whole lot worse (well maybe).

Here are the 2 sets of shelves in my living room.

The room is actually bigger than it looks in the picture, for some reason this always seems to happen to me! Please excuse the dead flowers in the vase, they were alive until recently I swear.

In other news (hehe), if you follow me on Twitter you’ll know that I had trouble sleeping last night…and I hated it!! Finally got to sleep at 2 only to be woken up by my horrible alarm at 6am! This 6am thing isn’t doing me any good! I’m a groggy mess today!

My mom just emailed me at work:

Mom – How’s work today? Less fraught than yesterday?
Me – Work is horrible and N’s husband has just lost his job because AVX is closing down and shipping themselves to Czech. Couldn’t you get pregnant or something to bring a bit of joy to the ever so depressing world?
Mom – I think I’ve already done my bit for the world population expansion programme!
Seriously Jen, what kind of child (grown-up child) asks their parents to have another baby just to fill a miserable gap in time?? Seriously! Why doesn’t this thought fill me with dread like it would any normal person?
I don't actually want her to have a baby though!!

Photo Challenge - Day 2 - Something on my table

Everything Except The Grill - The purpose of this photo challenge project is to encourage you to pick up your camera and start capturing details of your life. Day 2 - Something on your table

Seeing as though I'm posting a bit late in the day (8:10pm my time) I have been able to sneak a peek at other peoples tables. Well, I've gone a little crazy about the number of beautifully tidy, non-cluttered, excellently position table decor! My table is nothing like this! I have removed the glass from when I get home (it's now safely in the dishwasher!)...but other than that it is how it was when I got home...detailed description to follow after the photo!

My coffee table holds no coffee! Why is it called a coffee table anyway?? It used to be in the middle of the room but has moved to the side because it gives more room for the Wii!! There was danger of serious injury with this thing in the middle of the room.

So, the inventory...

Laptop, chocolate Russian roulette, 2 x books, DVD remote, Fedora hat, scarf and purse (birthday gifts), AC items (clutch and hat) and the random tech box! The box contains a plethora (yes, I do know what that means) of goodies, there's my netbook, external hardrive, black DS, Ipod, Iphone box (with all the junk in it), 3 x pairs of Apple headphones, Iphone USB lead, 3gb memory stick and extremely random Ed Hardy bikini (this was on the floor to begin with!). under the table is where I hid all the leads and rubbish for my laptop.

Well, that's it. My non-coffee coffee table! Come back tomorrow for some more of my life in pictures!! Definitely come back Thursday as I promise something funny (that I do / would do every day!!). xx

Life in Pictures - Only Day 2 and I'm Behind Already!!!

So...here's the lowdown for those slow on the uptake....no, of course I don't mean you!! Hehe.

Everything Except The Grill - The purpose of this photo challenge project is to encourage you to pick up your camera and start capturing details of your life. Seeing as though I have actually been having a rough couple of days (I swear I'm jet lagged from daylight crappy saving or whatever it's called!), and I am in fact
slow on the uptake (yes, I was actually referring to myself above!), today I will be doing 2 posts so by tomorrow I will be caught up with everyone!! Thursday's post will be a good one because I've already chosen it...Just playing Pretend - you already know it! haha!

My Something New

I have new shelves! Woo...somewhere to actually put my books!! Yay! it has been commented on that they are predominantly pinkish colours, a lot of the titles contain the word "shoe" and all have smutty pictures (Google for images of Star / Star Struck by Pamela Anderson - it's a cracker!) on the covers!

Next up is "something on my table"...I'd best do a bit of tidying!!

Mar 27, 2009

Ok, Ok, Part 2! (This is longer that Forever and I haven't proof read it!)

Firstly, I cannot believe you actually read the previous post! When I went to reply to the first comment (SO@24) it took me like 5 minutes to scroll to the bottom! How did you cope!? I shall make a point to write shorter posts (probably after this one hehe!).

Secondly, I wish to apologise!! I actually ended the last post uber abruptly because I got bored of writing about it! I did actually find I'm not as resentful to the moron that is Steb_16 (lol) as I thought I was. He actually did me a favour, of sorts!

Back to the story.....first picture as promised! Are you loving my anonymity effort? (I'm literally hysterical looking at that picture right now). I look like I've got a form of Trisomy 21 (a chromosomal thing that can cause mosaisism)...kind of!

Anyway...everything was fine until Steb_16 was playing basketball one night, he jumped up to dunk (or whatever it's called...damn, I knew I should've paid more attention in bball lingo class!)!! At 6ft9 he clearly didn't have too much need for jumping, but he was a bit of a show-off like that. So anyway he jumped and another player fowled him and he went headfirst over this lads shoulder and landed right on his wrist. Seriously. I have never seen anything so yukky!! I stood at the side not really sure what to do. I used to be a bit of a flake in a crisis! Now I'm not so bad. We ended up spending the night in A&E. Any normal person might think this was good of me, but not Steb_16. He accused me of all sorts of things because I didn't run over to him "like any other gf would've done". Another long story short...I cried, I apologised, he forgave me!!

Shortly after this, when we were out one night, he had a go at me (screaming) for talking to one of his friends for too long. When we got home I was crying so much I started to hyperventilate and had a panic attack (the only panic attack I have ever had and ever plan on having). Again, possibly another sign for me to leave?? Don't be silly!

It's funny, I was so stupid because following the panic attack I was miserable (we're about 6 months in to the relationship now), I was so unhappy that I actually decided that I had had enough...but I was too scared to end it. Not scared he'd do anything to me, but just too much of a coward I guess. So, I didn't! Yep, rubbish excuse! I'm officially rubbish!

The next few months went by pretty plainly. Steb_16 had seriously injured his wrist (I clearly wasn't that bothered as I can't remember for the life of me what it was that had happened but it was something worse than a straightforward break! I think they might actually have set it back on the wonk!) and couldn't play for about 4 months - so he was pretty dull, miserable and moody (understandable I guess).

(oooh, Joss Stone on AI)

I'm going to wrap this up quickly because I'm bored of talking about him now.

Steb_16 started back at training and things got really bad. His coach told him that he needed less "distractions" and so he decided the idiotic, balding, mid-life crisis bloke was right! (that's what I thought at the time about the coach, I clearly quite like him now lol). Steb_16 told me he was having some "issues" with "us" and that we should probably take a break...what the hell's a break? Are we doing a Ross and Rachel here? I'll be faithful you have fun...

...I think if you meet and have a relationship with someone over the internet you will always be a bit dubious as to whetehr they could do it behind your back - it's easier to hide than actually having a full blown person to person affair with someone. I had fully prepared myself for the reprocussions of what I'm about to tell you! During the "break" I was a bit worried that something else was going on so I checked his email account (I have no idea how I knew his password, ah, I remember....I wonder if it's still the same lol). He had indeed been speaking to someone else (which I'm not going into). Needless to say I told him I knew, he flew off the handle. Now, can you believe that somehow it was all twisted around and in the end I had to apologise for this? His response to my apology was "sorry just doesn't cut it anymore!". Erm. I have no words! He broke up with me the night before one of my GCSE exams, which I told him I failed although I actually didn't (I wanted him to feel bad).

It actually did me a lot of good though. From nowhere I grew a new backbone!! A few months later, after summer break, he got in touch with me and asked to meet up, I said no! When I started uni and he had a bball game in the new city I was living in he asked to meet up, I said no. When one of my friends died at 19 he tried to get in touch again and that was when I changed my number! We are now friends on Facebook but I can't IM him without feeling some kind of rage inside (lol) and I always (not that it's that often) try and gloat about my life and what I'm up to, how great I'm doing - even if it's a pack of lies!

Hmm, this is a bit of an anti-climax isn't it!?

Seriously kids, I must've had "this girl is a mug" written on her forehead though! I had NEVER, not once, let anyone treat me like this before. I was a confident, outgoing and bubbly girl until I met this idiot, who unfortunately I seemed to love! It's ok though because I got my bubbles back in the end...and that's why your reading this!! This is why, when I write about advice I give people, if they go back for more I have no tolerence! I know it's possible to cut yourself off from someone and that's what you have to do!

This is the a-hole now! Funny, I've just turned myself into a Facebook stalker to steal this for you...I'm doing it for the kids!! Hehe xx
