I do. No, really, I do! But I tend to get bogged down with general daily bla bla and once I’m out of the habit of picking up a book…poof…it’s gone! It’s even worse now with this rapidly increasing addiction to everything internet.
So, I made a point of picking up a book this morning before I left for work. I have a tonne of new books that I’ve just not quite gotten around to reading and so…this will be hard…instead of rockin’ out the comments like they’re going out of fashion (what does that phrase even mean? Surely if something’s going out of fashion you wouldn’t use it? Therefore making the phrase a bit backwards!) at lunch time, I will make myself look like a little studious bookworm, sit in the sun and read! The studious bookworm bit might be a little difficult because of the book I’ve chosen, I’m not sure I could pull off the “take me serious” look with said book (see pic!).
I’ve not even read the back cover of this book yet so I hope it’ll be good. Following closely in the footsteps of Everyone Worth Knowing I hope it will live up to my extremely high reading expectations…evidence of such is now to be listed:
- Star – Pamela Anderson
- Star Struck – Also Pammy
- Adored – Tilly Bagshawe
- Playground – Jennifer Saginor
- Showdown – Tilly Bagshawe
- A Certain Age - Rebecca
- Do Not Disturb – Tilly Bagshawe
- Everyone Worth Knowing – Lauren Weisberger
…As you can see, I’m definitely a classy reader. Ok, well I’m not. I love a good smut fest and I’m not ashamed to admit it!
My most favouritest (yes “favouritest”. It is a word!) book of all time is Forever by Judy Blume – the only somewhat smutty (when you 12) book you’re actually allowed to read so young! It’s also the thinnest book I’ve ever read. I can read that book in less than a day and I do actually tend to do that every few months. If you haven’t read it go and find it. Hunt it down! You’ll love it!
BY THE WAY if you didn’t see my last post, check it out HERE, because it’s super and uber cool and the bestest thing ever and you need to join in. It’s my 100% excellent recession busting plan (that, like I’ve said before, I cannot believe the government have never thought of. They’ll catch on soon though – like they did with my idea to print more money!). JOIN IN (or I’ll tell you how much you suck. Well I wont, but I’ll say I did!).

I used to make fun of smut-readers, until one day...I was in the Marine Corps, and for a long reason, we were stuck in a passenger terminal on base for more then 24 hours. For some reason the only books that they had were romance novels. So I read one. And I liked it. Now occasionally I try and sneak one in when no one is watching :)
I have no shame...I am a 37 year old grwon woman, who was crying on a plane just last week while reading New Moon (a book for 6th grade girls) My husband was MORTIFIED!
Haha, I'm no longer ashamed of the smut! Neither should you be! the ones I've listed are all excellent, you should try one! x
My favorite book from childhood is a Judy Blume book- Just as Long as We're Together. It's still on my bookshelf!
If you like smut, you might like The Chandler Brothers series from Carly Phillips (http://www.carlyphillips.com/books.php). I have all three on my bookshelf and oh my they can be hot at times! :)
Hahahha. I read Everyone Worth Knowing too, but I hated it because I was so mad that it was exactly like the Devil Wears Prada and she chose the humble boring life over the fabulous one. But the cover of that Harry Winston book did make me drool a bit. Have you read the Gossip Girl series? Oh my god, I was so addicted to those books and I'd get so depressed when I read them all because I was like "Well what the hell will I do then??" I love the TV show, but the books are a million times better and more scandalous.
Oh and thank you for commenting on my blog!
@ SB I may try those books next, although I've got another tilly bagshawe to attack first!!
@ sarah I did my LW books backwards with EWK first the the DWP so I really enjoyed EWK and then DWP not so much but I know what you mean - I seriously wanted to yell at the book!!!
I've only read 2 GG books but I'm hooked on the show!! Currently loving chuck - he's so bad!! X
When I was younger I loved all Judy Blume books but the book that made the biggest impact on my was "We hate Everything but Boys" by Linda Lewis. I started my own WHEBB club!
BTW...can you sign up to follow your blog? Or am I just blind? Because that could definately be the case!
Oh, man! I forgot about that Judy Blume book. It was the raciest book I read as a child. I think I even kept it hidden from my Mom because I was afraid she would find out about the sex scene....
Just finished a really good book. The Last Summer Of You & Me. It's by the woman that wrote Sisterhood the Traveling Pants and it's supposed to be for her "older fans." It was an easy read, entertaining and with suitable amount of smut. I recommend!
@ LJ I'm loving the title "we hate everything but boys"!! So true, but I do love shoes! I've added the follower widget thing so toucan follow that way (yay!) x x
@ jess Forever had been read by my entire class within a couple of weeks (age 12) once we'd discovered it! Best book ever! I might send it along with the accessory post for a bit of female enlightenment hehe x x
Oh I love reading too.
Tilly Bagshawe books are good but I am more into really trashy romance and historical romance with a bit of crime thrown in! Check out my Leetids Reading blog as I list all the books I read.
I love your book list. I have just decided I am going to be a regular reader after discovering it through Leetid! Do you like Sophia Kinsella? Loves her. Anyways thanks! I'm going to steal your smut list.
@ Leetid there is no trashier romance than Star / Star Struck (Pamela Anderson)...I love them to death!!!
@ Meika stealing my smut list sounds a bit naughty haha! I haven't read Sophie Kinsella but I do have a book of hers at home which I might start soon(ish). Thanks for the comment! x
I love, love, LOVE Judy Blume... and I'm not afraid to shout it from the rooftops!
